Admissions 

Every family applying for admission to Tyger Valley College is given equal opportunity irrespective of gender, race, religion or cultural background. However, every family will be informed in the admission interview of the College’s value base.

Admission to the College will be conditional upon the following:

  • The pupil meets the minimum academic standard and age requirement of the Grade being applied for. A placement assessment appropriate for the Grade may be administered by the Educational Psychologist to determine the pupil’s academic profile. A further class assessment/visit is administered when necessary. In the Pre-Preparatory phase a baseline assessment is administered by the Grade 0 teachers for children entering Tyger Valley College in their Grade 0 year. This assessment is conducted in the year preceding entry into Grade 0.  
  • The parents adhere to the recommendations made, based on the assessments regarding any necessary interventions or therapies required.  
  • The pupil and parents agree to abide by the College’s Code of Conduct.
  • The parents have fully read and accepted the terms and conditions contained in the offer letter sent via email.
  • That all academic assessments, doctors’ diagnoses and therapy reports are made available to the College before assessment or acceptance takes place. These reports must be included in the application pack.  
  • The pupil is of the correct age for the Grade being applied for:

Grade 0000 – 2 turning 3
Grade 000 – 3 turning 4
Grade 00 – 4 turning 5 
Grade 0 - 5 turning 6

N.B. Children entering the Pre-Preparatory phase of the school from Grade 000 must be toilet trained.

  • The parents adhere to the recommendations made in the case of placement of pupils with specific learning needs.
  • Parents arriving in the country from abroad have obtained and submitted a study permit for their child/children.
