Tyger Valley Educational Trust fondly known as 'TOPS' is Tyger Valley College’s outreach arm. It was created in order to pursue one of Tyger Valley College’s core values – Nation Building through Outreach across the community. TOPS will soon be a registered charity.

TOPS philosophy centers on empowerment through education. Its mission is to support under-privileged schools in the area of Pretoria East.

TOPS responsibilities include:

  • Outreach
  • Interaction & Awareness
  • Bursary
  • Fund Raising
  • Eco Related Projects

TOPS has twinning programmes with two schools in the community:-

Vukauzenzele, in Mamelodi
Boschkop Primary, in Boschkop


TOPS Projects achieved to date:-

  • Installation of Climbing Frames at Vukauzenzele Primary School.
  • Donation of over 1000 books, toys and puzzles, together with Tyger Valley College and Rotary International.
  • Holiday Feeding schemes for the less fortunate in conjunction with MAKRO
  • Interaction and awareness were facilitated through various activities between Tyger Valley College, Vukauzenzele and Boschkop Primary schools.
  • Waste Paper projects are successfully running at Tyger Valley College and outreach schools - raising both awareness and saving our environment.
  • Vegetables are grown at Tyger Valley College and distributed to needy charities within our area when the vegetables are ready for harvesting.
  • Annual Golf Day further expanded TOPS data base of sponsors and golfers with a successful Golf Day run on 9th September 2008.
  • Reach for a dream - which came true with a trip made to KTV with children from the outreach schools.
  • Senior drama team traveled to the outreach schools to perform their plays on “Rubbish Monsters”.
  • Teacher’s workshops and exchange of Ball Skills knowledge between the outreach schools and Tyger Valley College Pre-Preparatory.
  • Security in the form of reinforce concrete, burglar bars and security gates installed to safeguard the school.
  • Alarm systems with state of the art deterrents and arming devices.
  • Winter Warmer shared with charities such as Pop-Up Crèche. Included a day trip and interaction with Tyger Valley College Learners, sharing and caring.
  • Application of fruit trees for Boschkop Primary through Green Planet. Bearing shade and fruit for the Learners.
